Should I mke this trade?
Looking for opinions. A couple months ago I picked up a nice vintage Rolex Oyster Royal for a great price. I put a couple hundred more into it to source a Rolex buckle and get a new croc band. I recently learned that I probably can't sell it for what I have into it. It's a great watch, at 34mm a bit small but really more of a dress watch so I don't mind. Anyway I was just approached about doing an even trade for a Longines Crous De Paris , pretty much new. This watch has a retail value around $1600 on the net. I was thinking maybe I could sell it and pick-up a vintage Datejust. Although I have made the observation that Longines don't really sell that well on the forums. What should I do?

I think you'd be hard-pressed to pick up a vintage DJ for that amount, even in this flagging market. But if you've got a few spare coin to add to it, perhaps the deal works for you.

Risky business IMHO. Longines don't move well.
