Does it really matter that much to you.

I would say that, unless that watch has never been outside of it's original box, then, of course, somebody has done a very good job of refinishing the case and bracelet.

(if it was polished it would be glossy, wouldn't it)

Aren't the best pics...but by the coronet on the clasp and what I see on the crown guard...looks polished...still a good example though.

It looks like it has been polished to me.

It hasn't been done excessively, however, I would pass.

It looks good, and while it MAY have been polished I don’t think that takes anything away from this particular watch.

Bracelet has definitely been worked on by the satin wheel. Photos aren't clear enough to judge the case.

Looks alright to me. Get it! Who cares about the clasp. It's a possible discount opportunity imo.

Looks like lightly polished to me, with some sharp edges still. If you like it and the price is right, you should go for it.

This!

The bracelet and clasp looks to have been refinished. The case not so.

Ask the seller if the watch or bracelet has been "refinished" or "brushed"

To pretty much anyone not a frequent visitor to this form (and others like it) polished (correctly) means "made smooth and shiny". I've never polished a watch, but I've refinished many brushed bracelets

I’d agree with this statement. Looks like a light touch up on the bracelet at least.

Unless it's never been worn, then of course it's been touched up.....at least the bracelet and clasp. Just as you'd want it to be if you were buying it for yourself. It looks perfect. Great example!

^^^This.

And to the OP, just assume that every watch has been polished. Afaik they all are before they leave the Rolex factory.

The only thing that should be at issue is if a watch has been overpolished. From your photos, this one hasn't.

This is SO FUNNY! It's nearly 50/50 for "it's been polished - run away" to "untouched - buy it!"

Just goes to show, you can't trust anything you read on the Internet.

That's kind of my point. If it's polished to Rolex spec then it shouldn't matter.

It's not about whether a watch has been polished. It's whether it's been correctly polished.

When Rolex re-polishes at service it is no longer 'original' Rolex spec. This can only happen once @ the factory.

If you can't tell the difference, then it never happened.

Agree to disagree.

Your post is FUNNY too. I re-read through the whole thread and I didn't see anyone post either one of those opinions here. Not one person said to run away or not buy the watch, and maybe one person said he thought it looked unpolished (but didn't say to buy it). Just goes to show......

Could be a bargaining chip to get some $$ off the price if you want the watch. The case lugs look nice and crisp, the bracelet looks to have been buffed up, but a nice watch anyway. If you're going to wear it, get it and enjoy it, it'll get dinged up and you'll forget about any polish work.

Most definitely had been polished. Not the worse job I’ve seen but the clasp would really bug me
