BLNR Availability

As a relatively newcomer to Rolex I wonder what the release of the new Pepsi GMT will do to the availability of the BLNR. I am assuming that most of the hype will be focused on the Pepsi at least for the near future, would it be safe to assume that the BLNR will become easier to get?

I would assume exactly this. Perhaps one will even be spotted in a display case!

BLNR, along with other GMTs with 3186 movements, will be phased out.

I doubt it. Many won’t like the jubilee. Even if they like how it looks, they may not like it when they try it on. I love the jubilee but it has a different feel and isn’t sporty like the Oyster. I think all of the popular models will have no change in demand.

Given this, I think the BLNR would be harder to get.

I think demand will stay high. It’s only a matter of time before the 3186 models get phased out. Even if the BLNR gets the new movement, there will be those who will still want to snag a 3186 at a lower price, possible value due to short run time of the 3186 version, etc. also, many may steer clear of the pepsi as the jubilee is not for them.

All we can do is speculate, but I think demand will remain the same.

I can see some people already on the list for a BLNR switch to the SS BLRO

The Jubilee is alot more comfy than the oyster. Plus I can see ppl wanting to the buy Pepsi SS because in essence it looks almost exactly like the BLRO with new bracelet. Same bezel and everything they didnt even improve the color.

So the guys that had the BLRO as a grail will jump on this very very fast hence reducing the demand for other SS watches at least for the near future. Its now at an attainable price for pretty much the same look.

Demand for the BLNR is still strong. It’s a good looking watch. Except now you will also get people who will want it just because they are sure (they heard it from a friend of a friend of a sister of an AD) that it will be discontinued in the next year or so.

I just wish Rolex would ramp up production so maybe we see pre-owned prices fall back to some semblance of normalcy. Paying $9,500 for a 4-year old BLNR? Or $7,200 for a 2-year old Sub ND? Yeah...no.

Blnr hype will die down a bit is my guess, older movement/“older” case with wider lugs - a lot of folks just want the newest and greatest. I for one think the Pepsi has always been the hallmark of the GMT and can’t wait to have mine. IMO so much better than my BLNR.

The BLNR doesn't appear on the Rolex site anymore. Does this mean its discontinued?

Pepsi demand should be super high, so hope some of the BLNR moves there.

I still prefer the BLNR.

Considering I just got my BLNR a few months ago, I'm disappointed. Possibly new movement???

Regarding supply, I think it will be easier to get, it has to. Even if 5% of buyers steer toward the new BLRO that's still 5% less demand on BLNR. It will only drive down prices. I should have waited to purchase the BLNR, nonetheless.

Or maybe they revise it next year and put the new movement in it. The black bezel model and the WG BLRO with blue dial still have the 3186 movement too.
Mine is staying anyway so it doesn't matter that much to me.

Demand will always be there. My BLNR is on my wrist right now and it’s never being sold. I’d try and buy one to flip if I could though..

The BLNR will be discontinued next year , that means it'll be a rare watch and prices should hold in my opinion

what surprised me is that they put a new movement and a jubilee bracelet on the gmt and only increased the price $400 Canadian over the BLNR. that's actually impressive. many would have seen this as an opportunity to put the gmt into the 11,250 price range by simply selling the new movement and more expensive bracelet. The BLNR is like the stock market here in western Canada. about 5 months ago one sat in the display at my local dealer. last week my that same dealer tells me they cut the wait list at 10 people waiting for it. I will talk to them this week and see how many have jumped over to the waitlist for the new gmt. If i can get into the top three for the batman i just might have to.

On the other hand people will always want the original blnr because it will be phased out just like the movement and they will like the original size versus the new thinner case. IMO of course.

That would mean they will phase out the new WG pepsi, as it uses the older 3186.
