Thinking about first Patek purchase

I have been a Rolex guy exclusively and recently went through the exercise of trimming my collection and eliminating redundancy. I realized I would really prefer to wear a watch on a strap (with a date) during the workweek and nothing Rolex currently offers really doesn’t anything for me there. I saw the JLC sector dial and became enamored with that which led me down a rabbit hole leading the the 5296g sector dial. I love the versatility and that it can be dressed down. I tried one on and I am on the cusp of pulling the trigger. My thought process is that if I get the JLC I’ll always be thinking of the PP. Basically I have just come for validation from a group of enablers that this thought process makes sense and the 5296g is the way to go but if you disagree I would love to hear why. Cheers.

This is my very first patek! I love it's sector dial as it is a sweet twist from the rest of the Calatrava line.

Is that thenonly one that speaks to you? Are there alternatives. I know the one i tend to gravitated towards in the calatrava line is the 5196G and 6006G.

Regardless ask for a discount

I like both of the ones you mentioned. I ruled out the 5196g due to the lack of date. I like a date complication for my work week watch. I tried on the 6006g and loved the piece but the 5296g gave me that feeling. Everyone here knows that feeling. I secured a good discount and they are holding it for me so I can sleep on it.

Always go with your first choice.

The wife and I have a credo. Get it and be happy. Regret over buying the consolation prize far outweighs buyer's remorse of getting what you really want. If buyer's remorse never applies to you, then all the better.

I tried this one on last week, but still prefer the 5196 (in rose or yellow). I do like this one a lot though... I agree that the 5296 would be a better everyday watch because of the date and style.
