A pro AD message

I get tired of hearing how all dealers are sketchy. "Selling out the back door", "bundling", "they're all in the safe", the list goes on.
My dealer is honest, friendly, thorough, and follows through with their promises. Think this pic of my recent receipt is proof of the goodness out there. Note the Special Order notation.

Don't put it up, yet. A sales person at that chain told me that their Rolex rep came in and said a letter would be going out soon regarding a price increase. If I wanted to get a 116613LB, I had better get it quick because that watch "could" go up about $3000. This was several months ago and no, I didn't buy the watch from them.

Congratulations. You’ve been looked after by your AD, so you’re full of praise right now.

For every person who’s been looked after by a pleasant AD, someone else isn’t.

In my opinion, there are far more sleazeballs than decent AD’s, but I do know decent AD’s exist - I have dealt with a couple.

That’s got nothing to do with bulk selling or smoke and mirrors over the availability of sports models. It’s simply based on their interpersonal skills.

Glad to hear that there're still a good AD out there! Btw, are you their 1st time customer (no previous history)?

When I was getting my SS Daytona, another person came in and also asked for the same watch but she didn't get it, the difference was I'm a customer with a long history with the AD and she never bought anything from them, fair enough. But she did look at my SS Daytona and was drooling...just like everyone here thinking they can simply walk into an AD with no history and expect a SS BLRO/Daytona/..., it may happen but the chance is small IMO

Congratulations on the new addition. I too have a great relationship with my AD, they have gone above and beyond for me in the past. Still patiently waiting for the call on my GMT however , but that’s a different thread!

Technically a 7 month wait. The order date was Basel but they did not receive their first piece until June.

I bought a BLNR in 2017 there (no waiting) and have known my SA for over 20 years as he has moved around various dealers here in town. I am not a whale but he knows I'm not a flipper, he knows I have bought many watches over the years and will likely continue to buy, and our relationship is always cordial. He asked me if I wanted one.

Good to see some pro AD threads around here. I want to think I have a good relationship with my AD even though I only made my first purchase there three months ago. Showed up just to browse 2 weeks ago, and they offered me a BLNR at MSRP, no waiting, no games, no nonsense. Granted the month earlier, I bought a 116519LN from them, at a lower price than used examples that the forum TS were selling.

I put my name on the list for a Pepsi at my AD back in November. THEY asked me if I wanted to be on the list. They said I may get a call in January, which I have not. However, I have not had any communication with them since. Maybe I should stop by. It will be interesting to hear what they say. My history with them is 2 watches, a sub and DJ41mm, both purchased in October 2017 at 19% off.

I see the receipt, but I don't see the watch which was bought in December. Flipper??

I just recently bought a DJ41 from an AD and was overall happy with the experience. It was a 3 month wait to get the watch but worth it.
