Rolex seadweller SD43

I love my vintage rolex, but am thinking of wearing a modern one as my daily. At the moment the seadweller SD43 anniversary is at the top of the list. The question is would you wear it as a daily or keep it as a safe queen? And stick to vintage as a daily? Hmmmm?

Going out on a limb here and saying most people on this forum buy watches to wear them...

The first question should be...can you get one?

Definitely not a safe queen, it's in production and not as hard to get as other hot models like Daytona, BLRO, Hulk, or BLNR.

A great choice of daily if it is not too big for you

Wouldn't cash in the bank make more sense than buying something to keep in a safe?

Vintage references are my safe queens; Wear modern daily for better build quality & resistance to being a daily/beater.

Thanks for the advice. Yea I do like to wear my watches usually and regularly wear my vintage ones. Just never thought of wearing my new models. No real reason. Was thinking of starting and thought I would ask for opinions. In the UK money in the bank is worth nothing so some nice watches are a way of investing but i don't buy with this 100% the reason. Just like collecting.

Easily a daily wearer. Mine is always in rotation

But, I’d hazard that on a wrist less than 7inches it could look pretty big. But that doesn’t necessarily matter

If you get the MK2 just wear the heck out of it. If you can hunt down a MK1 you may want to wear it sparingly.

Fantastic watch either way.

If you look at how history has treated most Rolex sports watches out of production, the value has continued to rise. More buyers in the market now. I think that if you get a SD43, you should wear it. If you are concerned about damage, you can most likely repair any damage you should do to it. Rolex has already produced too many of these to make them rare, however, there does seem to be a little frenzy developing over the MK I dial at this time.

Wear and enjoy ..
I have just realised this watch for what it is a large submariner..I want one and am still waiting on the List
Should suit my 8 1/4 inch wrist as it's a big watch but not as thick as a deep sea..which I am happy with..
I will wear mine when I get it in rotation..
Watches should be worn.
If you are a speculator you should get a daytona .hulk .Pepsi. batgirl as compared to them this is tier 2 ..
However in the future who knows but the mark 1 dial will be the more wanted you have missed that boat unless you go grey

Always to wear. I don’t buy watches just to look at it, vintage or modern.

Whether it’s a daily depends on ur collection.

But sd43 can be a daily for me. It’s the best modern Rolex diver imho

It's a great daily wearer. I dont think it wears that much bigger than a Sub, but wears much smaller than a 44mm Panerai. Its the best sports watch in the Rolex lineup ATM.

Why on earth would you buy a watch just to keep it in the safe!?

IMHO, Don't buy it if you are going to put in in a safe! As its not a watch that is readily available at retail then leave it for someone who actually wants to wear it. Its a watch, wear it.

If you have the wrist for it it’s easily a daily wear, even my DSSD doesn’t look as ridiculous as I thought it would under a cuff.

Why would you wear a new mass produced SS Rolex. I would defiantly put them in a safe and wait 60 yrs to see what it might be worth!
