112 w/ In-house Movement

I wonder when they'll be coming out with a model such as this? I love the 112 and it will probably be my next PAM, but have to wonder when they'll not use the outsourced movement??

They probably won't in the foreseeable future, Panerai reserves the in house movements for the higher priced PAMs.

The 312 isn't too much more expensive than the 112 though. It has an in-house movement. Then again Panerai typically releases something, gets pics out there through the MODS and other sources, then raises prices when everyone wants one. I'd guess we'll pay $8K+ once we have reasonable access to a 312.

That's true, but keep in mind the 312 is a newer model. Especially with the inhouse movement, I bet many will command a premium. I am speaking relative to the older models out currently, perhaps the move for all in house movements is imminent. Who Knows? Maybe they want prospective/current customers to stop griping about the fact that they are paying high prices for ETA movements. It's similar to breitling, since all of them are ETA movements & mass produced, you basically take a 50% hit on resale if you buy for MSRP at an AD. Thank god PAMs are in limited production or else we would be in a similar fate.

Do you think Panerai will consider to stop using ETA movement?

It's my understanding and opinion that Panerai is moving toward an all in-house movement. Given that and what they've done with pricing this far, they'll be PP before you know it!

And we'll be paying 17K just like the stainless steel PP aquanaut.
