Is It Safe To Wear a Rolex While Sleeping in Bed?
There was a recent thread regarding wearing a Rolex while sleeping with a number of discussions as to damage which could occur. I'm curious as to what others think as to whether this is a safe practice for a Rolex watch.

Nope, the whores can take it off your wrist once you are out. Lock it up before bed.

From my perspective If you sleep alone then you can wear whatever you want. If you are sharing a bed then you might accidently flail and break your partners teeth!
On the upside following the teeth incident you may find moving forward that you can sleep alone and wear whatever your preference. :) Watch damage wise, i'm not sure whats harder by the bed than the watch, unless you have metal bedposts or similar. |

I feel that’s it’s safe but the question I would ask is if there is a need for it? And is it comfortable?

Only if the bed is not in London, Paris or the whole of Africa.
Oh and Mexico. Plus maybe Italy.

Depends who you are sleeping with!!
Pretty sure that back in my younger days there would have been occasions where it would have been very unsafe!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would not make a habit of this. Many a story of the watch getting scratched by significant other's wedding ring. Also, not terribly comfortable at least to me.
If you are in a sketchy place, perhaps sleep with it on, but I would have probably left the Rolex at home in those situations anyway. Good luck ![]() |

I think the OP is questioning whether it’s safe for the watch to wear sleeping to prevent damaging it accidentally, not is there a security risk (theft by a prostitute) or to spouses teeth if so impacted.
As to what I believe he is asking, I think the risk would be very low unless you sleep with a stone nightstand or some other object in close proximity that if while sleeping you turned over and hit it, could damage the watch. In regard to the safety of theft by a lady of ill repute, I’ll leave that for others to comment on with experience. ![]() I don’t wear one to bed anymore since I did indeed wack my then fiancé right in the forehead while asleep. She woke with a headache and perfectly formed circle bruise including where the cyclopes made a mark. That ended wearing a watch to bed. ![]()

Is It Safe To Wear a Rolex While Sleeping in Bed?
Is this an April Fool’s Day question?
If there are any special forces veterans who wore their Subs and GMTs during combat in Vietnam; maybe they can chime in about taking a nap with it on. Sent from Crapatalk

Seriously, this a concern. We need guidance and clarification on this?
Whats more extreme than in the weeds...or needles in a haystack... I just don't get the obsession over the many different considerations of safety, wearing, winding, cleaning, water, sleeping, etc of a watch. People own six figure cars that are more valuable, here or on the few car forums I'm on, and don't see these extreme levels or expensive art, no worry about temperature, humidity, or uv lights...but we're worried and confused about sleeping with a watch on? No disrespect to anyone, but what about walking next to your spouse/gf/so with her rings, or holding hands...will this need to be reviewed too because someone had a careless accident. It's just a watch. It's coming into my life and it will be incorporated into how I live, not the other way around. I won't change how I live at the expense of a watch. |
