Anyone Buy a ticket to go to space?

250k a ticket via Virgin Galatic. Would be very interesting to see the world from that view. Almost surreal.

However the real interesting part would be in they can make a plane to fly around to any point in the world in hours. NYC to Australia in 3 hours!

Would love to go to space and see our planet from orbit, but I'm too poor to buy a ticket

I am interested once the program is normalized, proven safe and the cost per flight is lower.

Like any new high-tech product/service the first to have/use them pay the price for R&D and to help recoupe the costs of going to market.

Definitely interested for the future once it’s been operational for a while and our boy is bigger to come along.

I'd definitely do it if I had the disposable income. I'd much rather spend the 250k on this than a crazy watch. What an experience that would be!

Went in early on the stock. Now if that ‘rockets’ and makes me money, I’ll pay some back for a ticket.

I can see the future threads... which watch should I take into space? Could make for some interesting wrist shots. I wonder if duty-free will apply when leaving Earth?

Space is about 60 miles up - so if you could drive ‘up’ in a car it’s only about 1 hour away which is an interesting concept in its own right.

I believe Virgins plan is to go past that point.

In any event there would be weightlessness, which is probably one of the key things expected when entering space by passengers.

This can also be achieved within the atmosphere by flying in an arc. A bit like going weightless in the seat of a rollercoaster. But that is for less than a minute at a time.

I feel the same way about a trip to "space" as I do about a trip O/S. Not interested.

If I allowed myself to think of all the good I could be doing for others with that money, it would be hard to justify the expense, let alone enjoy the view. That's a lot of coin just to be able to say, 'Hey everyone, look what I did'.

If you are looking for a bargain space flight here's an alternative for only $125k. Hydrogen balloon. What could go wrong?

I remember almost 25 years ago, some dude came to my dad's store in Galveston and asked to put a poster up.
Poster was advertising a launch into outer space out of or near Galveston.
Of course nothing came of it but this def. brought back memories lol.

A new cologne is coming out, based on a formula NASA uses to acclimate astronauts to the SMELL of space. Yes, it seems that once you open and close the airlock, space has a distinctive smell. Described as a combination of sizzling steak, rum and raspberries. Metallic in character. Worth knowing about if you are taking the trip.
