Suggestions on Rose Gold reference

I’m ready to venture into a PM reference as a more formal watch. I have a Hulk as my daily wear and so I’m not really interested in another sub (smurf). I’ve looked at AP, Patek, Vacheron Const., etc but just don’t love the style personally and I tend to be a bit hard on watches (these seem a bit more fragile). I’m interested in the all rose gold GMT root beer and also the chocolate Daytona on black strap or bracelet option. Is either easier to find at AD? The all gold root beer seems awesome but I rarely see anyone wearing an all yellow or rose gold watch these days. I like the Pepsi WG meteorite dial but figure there is no chance of finding one at AD. Also have considered the rose gold YM. Obviously it depends on ones particular taste but I would like the opinion of those who own one of these watches. I’m not interested in spending 80k so the platinum Daytona is out.

Why not a PM skydweller? Or DD?

I see someone already suggested a DD. I know you are considering a sport watch but at the very least look at a RG DD. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but that’s what I wear and I love it. In my humble opinion, it’s just enough without being over the top. I’m kind of on the thin side, so it works well for me. I think it’s a great alternative, without being in your face. As you probably have guessed, I am not the showy kind of guy. I’m sure whatever you decide to get, you love and enjoy it. Happy Hunting.

My recommendations ar, having a few:

YG DD40 White Dial, SkyDweller YG white Dial or Daytona Everose Chocolate Dial. SkyDweller Everose

They are all beautiful and heavy, but very very comfortable. Eventually, I might end with all Rolex f

You can find the SkyDweller white or black dial and

I can pretty much keep up with the date. I have a number of Breitlings with subdials that never get used. I would never use the subdials on a Daytona...probably most don’t. But love the look of both.

For me it would be the CHNR or the Yacht Master. I'm not a huge fan of rubber straps on a PM watch, but that's easily fixed with a nice black alligator strap.

I've been thinking about a PM purchase sometime early next year and have been leaning towards RG options from both Rolex and AP. I have a pretty comprehensive collection from Rolex in SS (across professional models) so am thinking about doing something a little less sporty. Two watches on my shortlist include: DD40 in RG with Olive anniversary dial (Olive dial also looks great on WG), AP RO in "pink" gold with blue dial. I'm leaning towards the DD because I would much rather prefer to get a RO in SS over PM (just given the history of the model). Also, assuming all are at MSRP, I could get the DD + SS RO for just a little more than the PM RO.

Hard to believe that if you are in PHX and scottsdale are you don't see any PM Rolex. If you want those items you should be able to get them at your AD. Go in tomorrow and give the AD the reference numbers and description you want. Sure you could get those in a some months wait. Inventory is low now so difficult to find discounts anywhere so keep in touch with the AD.

WG pepsi (no meteorite) is perfect and reads better in terms of hand visibility (see my avatar). I've got a new YG SkyDweller on oysterflex coming in shortly....... RG Root beer another option.

I think you'll be happy with the CHNR. However, if you're looking for something a little more formal, I would suggest the Cellini. Both lovely watches. I've posted a couple of pics for reference.

The Chocolate configurations are the best Rolex RG references in my opinion. The ivory dial 116505 is also nice but the metal bezel is a glare and scratch magnet

I never liked the root beer, until I tried it! Definitely understand the hype now.

Daytona, and definitely go full bracelet. You can always source an oysterflex or other strap afterwards.

Well I wear a YG Sub everyday....I went with a pre ceramic, it just was more pleasing to my eye than the six digit (and I love my SS Sub C) Just try a bunch on and go with what pleases you, all Rolex PM are fantastic watches and unless you are using a jackhammer or turning wrenches everyday, hold up well. Post a pic when you are done!

Make sure you try them on and really check them out. I had the full CHNR and ended up moving it on. I really liked the RG at first, but as I lived with it the Rolex RG has a sort of pinkish quality to it that got old (for me) quickly. I just prefer the AP RG. Many many fans of Rolex RG though, just don't be me and make sure you LOVE it before you buy it.

Without a doubt, all gold Daytona. It wears much slimmer, sleeker and well balanced than a sub or GMT. If I had to cut down to just one watch, I would keep my gold Daytona.
