Hacking position possible problem?
Hi everyone.
I noticed that on my DJ which is actually not service fresh but working absolutely fine, the crown operates a bit weird. If I unscrew the crown and pull it right away from winding position to hacking it hacks perfectly and the second hand stops, so I can set the time. The second position (date setting) works just fine. The only problem is that sometimes if I pull out the crown from date setting position to time adjust position it “clicks” without actually engaging the hacking and the second hand continues to move, now if I try to set the time, the second hand stops just fine. But it seems that sometimes I pull the crown to not precisely the 3rd position but somewhere in between (between the date setting position to the hacking position). The watch works just fine, and I’m surely not gonna send it in for just this “problem”. Usually if I can’t properly hack the movement I push the crown back to winding and try again (finally hacking perfectly so I can adjust the hands). Did this weird thing occur to anybody? My DJ has a 3135 movement...just for info... |

You should have a positive lock and proper action in the two positions.
None of my Rolex, etc., have ever had the issue you describe. Yours is a workhorse movement, but "things can happen" to any movement. Seems you have a mechanical issue that needs to be evaluated by a service center. Or not, as you indicated. If you can live with it, maybe it won't get any worse.

It’s weird because it doesn’t happen all the time, most times all works fine. I think I’m gonna wait for next problems to show up (if they do at all).

I’ve also seen many threads addressing this issue but never on a watch with this movement.

I've has this with multiple 3135's. It feels like it engages but it doesn't. No big deal, just push it back in and try again.
