Does an auto equivalent to Pam914 exists ?

Hello all, do you know if a Panerai exists in the current range with the same specs than the 914, but with an automatic movement ?

I mean :
- 300m waterproof
- no second, only hours and minutes
- sandwich dial
- screwed back (steel or sapphire, I don't mind)

I'll look again to the 914, I read some unpleasant feedbacks about the P5000 and the fact that the movement what going fast +2mn/day on the first day after winding it. I'm not really fan of that.

Or maybe I'll wait for something that is more appealing to me.

The issue you refer to has been resolved long ago. Owner of PAM560 Q Series (2015), which had the original banking problem, now resolved through official service. Good accuracy over the 8 day period as far as it can be measured without a seconds hand (mine had a deviation of barely 1 minute + after two weeks).

From what I read, it seems the p.5000 movement in the 914/915 is different from the original. It has an even longer power reserve now, despite remaining quoted as 8 days, and being able to maintain excellent accuracy.

The 914 has a LOT of the Panerai DNA going for it and is probably what I’d choose as my first Pam if buying new today: manual 8 days movement, sandwich dial, 300m, screwed case back, clean dial… The 8 day movement is a joy to have: worn daily feels like an automatic (with the plus of a moment on weekends to wind and feel the butter-smooth movement). In rotation, is like having a watch on a winder: always ready!

914 version with an automatic movement cannot be possible due to running seconds, all Panerai automatic come with it

Owner of the 915 here for 6 months now. Has not missed a beat. The movement after full wind runs a little fast for maybe a minute(to mitigate this been an issue over the 8-9 days of wind I let the watch run a couple minutes then set the the time and it’s good to go)

The watch then loses roughly 44-seconds to a minute after 9 days running (full wind).

Even though the movement tends to gallop a little fast first full wind, to have that accuracy over 9 days to me is perfectly acceptable.

Congrats! & happy 40th! The only question I asked myself after buying my 915 was why I didn’t get a panerai earlier. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with the 914 at all, a very fun piece for many occasions and many strap options if you’re so inclined.

Thanks. Yep, I wear it since last week and feel it very comfortable on the rubber strap ! Very readable too, of course. The glow is quite weak in the dark, that's my only issue with it. It's still readable once I spent a few minutes in the night.
