Hasn’t been discussed in a while…..thoughts on beach Daytona

Haven’t seen any discussion on these lately. Just trying to get a pulse on these pieces in 2025. I was offered a full set today (blue)….got me thinking. Anyone have any thoughts on these fairly rare Daytonas?
I know the history behind them, never seem to have become a truly, truly sought after piece, but pretty rare for sure. I personally like them….

It’s sought after now. Hence your likely high asking price. I’d like the turquoise one myself

I think you can totally rock one. Do it!

My only hang up is that strap, not really my personal fav. Otherwise it’s a super cool piece. But based on your cars and other watches I think this is a go for you…..in hit e world according to Easy.

I love Daytonas. But there are many other iterations i gravitate towards than the beach variants.

Love 'em.

Don't usually like numerals on a dial, but ... these just have that allure about them. I love that the Daytona's history is littered with models that no one wanted on release.

Jasper made a nice video on them:

Sometimes we all need online friends to say you may regret that one!
My favourite grey dealer has the pink version. I agree both versions look very feminine.
A lot of choice out there for the same money.

Thanks for feedback all.
I did read they were marketed somewhat for women but bought mostly by men, although a slow seller.

Perhaps purchased mostly by men, but for their wives and/or girlfriends?

Just because you can does not mean you should. How much real wear would this get in your impressive collection? No issue with the color or anything else about the watch except it wears small. I would not but part of the fun of our hobby is doing something at times that is just fun. Maybe you buy it and share it with your significant other?

Not my cup of tea and they were quite poor sellers back then.

I'd gift one to my wife if I could, she would adore that blue one. For a guy, not so much.. maybe for Mark Wahlberg.

I’m a huge Daytona fanboy but I don’t care for these at all.

The strap does not look attractive to me and the shrunken Roman’s on a Daytona dial does not work. It’s an already busy dial as others have said but it’s also a poor contrast imo, Roman numerals on race car driving watch. Doesn’t work.

Honestly, these look like "cheap" watches to me. They look like the products of any anonymous manufacturer who makes cheap chronographs for the masses.

Of course I know they look much better in person, but to me they have no personality, they are just fashionable. Which of course means women would love them! All they need to do is throw that watch out of the way and they'd be happy with the bracelet

In short, for a DJ, all of them would be a hit. But why a Daytona?
