In need of advices for my collection
Good evening everyone,
After being a visitor here for quite some time and enjoying reading and learning about, I finally created a profile and thought I could use some help. Growing up not even knowing what watches were, I have been lucky to have had access to great brands at retail through my work and network, and went for the obvious choices: Rolex Explorer 214270 from 2014 Rolex Submariner 16610 from 1991 Rolex Daytona 116500LN from 2022 Rolex GMT 1675 - Pepsi from 1978 Audemars Piguet Jumbo from 2023 Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5167 from 2025 I would like to hear some suggestions on great watches to look into, without necessarily looking at the investment value, which is probably a bad habit I had coming from a humble background. Now would like to discover new pieces that carry a nice history and could add some flavour to my current rotation Example some vintage pieces Curious to hear what everyone is looking at currently 👍🏼 Thank you for reading A |

Nice choices, snd i guess add the obvioud VC / ALS for that old school trinity memorial.
Or consider new leaders like H. Moser, Armin Strom, Romain Gauthier, Czapek, etc. Lots of amazing modern choices.

I’m a strong believer in independent watch brands—especially once you’ve acquired the usual suspects. The journey with independents is simply more engaging. You get to know the people behind the brand, witness the struggles of artists and entrepreneurs taking risks without the safety net of a big-name company, and experience some truly exceptional watchmaking.
My foray into independent watches has been incredibly rewarding. While I still appreciate my well-known brands and their fantastic pieces, they don’t offer the same duality of product and experience. With so many options available, it ultimately comes down to personal taste. A great place to start is the Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendants (AHCI) https://www.ahci.ch/about-us/. If you're near Geneva (and it looks like you're in France), they have an office downtown where you can meet the watchmakers in person during Watches and Wonders—and best of all, it’s free. That would be my recommendation. |

Hi Alex and welcome.
Great collection you have got there and a really good question you have asked. I think you should definitely look at Vacheron Constantin, I believe you will like the overseas collection. It would be a suitable addition to your collection, but add some real quality watchmaking history. I really love all things VC and can’t recommend this brand highly enough. I suggest you consider Moser as well, the streamliner is a really cool watch. Girard Perregaux is worth a mention too, and for more daily wear, don’t forget Tudor. So many good choices out there, be adventurous! And enjoy the journey. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Great collection of sports watches. Do you want to branch out to dressier styles or just expand your collection brand-wise?
As noted above the VC Overseas is an awesome sports watch. For Calendar or world time complications look at JLC. For a dress watch Breguet have some of the most beautiful dials. |

There have been some great suggestions such as looking at pieces from VC, Lange, and Independents.
Many of your watches are round, I would also suggest consider looking at some pieces from Cartier. Perhaps a Cartier Tank Cintree or Santos Dumont if you don't mind vintage. Or look into their watches from the original Cartier Privee collection which were in production from 1998 through 2008. They were usually a modern size and take on some very classic and historically important pieces, using very fine movements from Piaget, THA, JLC etc. If you prefer something new, consider one of the new Tank Americaine watches, which are rally handsome watches and well priced for whatever metal you choose. Their are also some great watches in the Santos collection. Wishing you lots of fun and luck with whatever you choose. |
