NYC Boutique Moving

Moving their 57th street location a few blocks away to 60th and 5th. 12,000 sq. ft. and the asking rent was $400k/month. This could be their new AP house and they will get rid of their Meatpacking location?

Having visited the APH in the meat packing district I think it’d be a shame if it closes down as it’s a really lovely location but I’m sure NYC could easily wear another APH in Manhattan.

Somewhat related, my wife's best friend works for an Italian design firm in Italy, and they are the ones tasked to decorate the interior of the upcoming store. It's funny to me that this person barely has her life together, yet she's playing apparently a meaningful role in the way the store is set up.

My understanding is that the current APH in NY was some kind of partnership with Material Good NYC. I couldn’t tell from this article if Material Good will have some part in the new space. But this is a big luxury footprint AP will have with this new location.

The AP House concept came from Material Good, not AP. So far as I know, all of the AP Houses are in partnership with Material Good.

A number of AP boutiques also are in partnership with Material Good.

If it's an AP House it surely will have a bar. That seems to be a foundational element of the AP House formula.

That said, if the liquor is being given away and not sold, I'm not sure just what sort of license they need in NYC.

Good point on being given away. Tiffany's always offers a glass of Champagne with purchase.

The APH in the meat packing district is as dry as Elliot Ness’ place on Memorial weekend
