Casting Call

The other day, watched a few minutes of the Indiana Jones movie with his father, and it struck me as to what a perfect piece of casting it was to choose Sean Connery. The Jones character had already become such a movie legend, seemed the part of his father would have had to have been someone of similar screen stature to keep from being minimized. Not many of those around, but Sir Sean was definitely one.

So, what are some other examples of casting calls you found to be right on the mark.

Another one that quickly comes to mind was David Hyde Pierce playing Frasier's brother. It's still a little hard to believe they weren't really brothers.

One of my favorite movies the Intouchables with François Cluzet and Omar Sy.

I couldn’t see it ever work being cast differently. I actually haven’t seen the US remake version because there’s no way it could’ve been bettered in my mind and would only be a disappointment.

That's one of my favorites as well.

Casting Kyle MacLachlan as the FBI agent, Dale Cooper, in ‘Twin Peaks’ was brilliant. I can’t imagine anyone expressing David Lynch and Mark Frost’s writing the same endearingly odd way he did. Such a dark show needed the hope and optimism an early-30s MacLachlan portrayed.

A few good men

Jack Nicholson, a seasoned veteran actor being cast across from a cocky, young Tom cruise…. Pure genius! I really feel like a lot of the emotions behind the script in that movie are more than just acting. Both of their performances were truly exceptional!

Casablanca. From Bogey & Bergman to Claude Rains, Peter Lorre, & Sidney Greenstreet the cast was steller.

Play it Sam, play As Time Goes By.

Patrick Swayze had to have Whoopi G as Oda Mae… a match made in heaven (pun intended)
