Sale My Rolex

Got the call this week from my AD and I am picking it up Monday. Thinking seriously about selling. How do I go about selling? What is the safest and best way for myself and buyer. I have never sold one here.

It is brand new, never worn, with all boxes, tags and dated this month. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I used ebay in the past when I owned my business. Thanks in advance. Roger.

So you going to buy it just to sell it? If you don’t like it let someone buy it that appreciates it.

If you are dead set on flipping (and it is a model worth doing that with), you need to do it through a grey market dealer that will protect your identity. If you list it on eBay or publicly with your own name, and your AD gets notified, you will get banned. Happened to two of my friends--the Rolex regional rep found out and they (and the AD) got in trouble. It was a steel Daytona and another steel reference. Of course, if you wait an appropriate amount of time, Rolex doesn't care, but the immediate flips can cause issues.

Easiest way by far is DavidSW.

Doesn’t your bio say that you’re a retired pawn broker???

Would recommend selling to one of the trusted dealers. I've sold to several of the better known ones and had successful transactions with no issues. I'd probably recommend DavidSW the most of that group because he has always gotten back to me the quickest and has been the best at communication. In fact he's literally the only TD that hasn't just straight up ghosted me during a negotiation to sell if something wasn't to their liking.

This strongly feels like a fishing sales thread.

Got it. Missed that. I agree that the trusted seller route is the safest and most reliable path to take.

Right? Someone needs to tell the OP and those on this thread who are actually giving advice (don’t know which is worse) this is not a “How to be a Fllpper” forum. I am sure Reddit has a ton of info. This is exactly what is wrong with today’s Rolex environment. Flippers and grey dealers.

Roger is a pledge member and is not hiding his intentions??

This is a very common situation these days for better or worse.

Do you know the model number?

Take care with this one.

If the watch you are wanting to sell is a desirable and difficult to get reference then the Trusted Seller route is the easiest and safest way to proceed. Be careful though, if you are getting a model with little upside in value you could get offers that are less than retail and tax. I am in the school of thought that once you buy the watch it is yours to do with as you like.
