Recent acquisition 26420oi RG/Ti

Was on the fence about this piece based on the website renders and the fact that there aren't many actual pics out there. My AP nomad said they only made it for 1 year and is now out of production, so I didn't give it much thought until I saw an acquaintance with one on a car rally a few months back, and I was in love/lust. Found one the other day and just received it. Stunning contrast with the grey/rose/titanium/black.

My only critique thus far is that I wish it had the deployant clasp rather than the tang buckle, as it is quite top-heavy when putting it on. I inquired with AP and the deployant costs 1.82 human testicles(~$7k) at current exchange rates, so I'll pass on that for now

I knew it wouldn't be cheap as I bought the steel deployant previously, but I didn't expect $7k+, which felt to be the same as 1.8 testicles at that moment in time

Thanks

Looks great, maybe the best of the 43mm ROO chronos. Was also told by a boutique that it is discontinued when I talked about my wishlist :(

I hope the new Bleu Nuit version is not a 1-year production. These chronos look really great. And yes - why dont they come with deployant clasp?

That’s such an amazing piece! Huge congrats on it!

How is the fit of it compared to a 42 or 44 ROO? Is it on the larger side like the old 44’s?

Unique and interesting looking for the line. Certainly one of the nicest references.

Great watch. I too inquired about the deployant and was shocked by the price- passed on it as well and don’t need it.
Congrats

Congrats on this beauty! I had no idea it would only be around for a year, now I kinda regret not asking for one.

What’s your take on the wearability and comfort of the strap? I’m interested in ordering a custom strap in that fabric for one of my other 43mm pieces.

Wear your new piece in good health and post more pics when you can!

If it's for the function, would a stainless steel work? I guess that should be 2-3x cheaper.

Strap is great and really sets the watch off with the black stitching IMO. The black rubber strap that comes with it does the watch zero justice. I had the black strap on yesterday and took it back off after 6 hours. My main concern with the fabric strap is that I'm sure it will get dirty easily. I inquired with AP about if I could "coat" it with Scotchgard-type spray and if that is feasible or not, but haven't heard back yet.

I already have a stainless deployant that is currently on it. Obviously, the color is very similar to titanium, so it works, but a deployant in rose gold, like the tang buckle that comes from the factory, would really put it over the top.
