6538 in Bond movie

Hi guys,

Been looking into the 6538's for a while. Does anyone know which 6538 Sean Connery is wearing in Dr. No? There is a lot of argument online that says it is the 4-line gilt dial with red triangle on the bezel, but from what I can see it is the 2-line dial with no triangle.

Anyone know the answer for sure? Cheers.

Good luck! From what I’ve read over the years, no one has succinctly and definitively been able to unravel the mystery. Plus, the whereabouts of the watch is either a secret or, sadly, lost.
That said, it’s not a four line, as anyone can see by looking up the screen shots from Goldfinger. It’s a two-line, with a no red triangle, no minute markers insert. Whether it was born that way is also debatable. Either way, ANY 6538 is going to cost a lot of money if you’re interested in one.

Also interested in knowing.

Makes you wonder, if by some chance this watch resurfaced and could somehow be proven to be the actual screen used 6538 worn by Connery...would the sale price at auction exceed Paul Newman's Daytona?

Without a doubt.

That wrist looks too pale and hairless to be Sean Connery's. I wonder who the stand-in was.
