PAM 236 or Rolex Deepsea

I am looking to purchase another watch and I have hit a wall. I used to own a 236 and sold it when I was in the "consolidation" mode and used the funds toward a 270. No regrets here but I do miss the 236. Recently a friend of mine introduced me to a Rolex Deepsea and I do love it as well. Unfortunately I don't have the means to purchase both, hence this posting. Which you guys prefer the most?

I voted for the Deepsea - if I had to choose between them, I would choose it because of its ruggedness !!

But I wouldn´t mind owning both !!

It looks like you have a number of PAM's already. Are there any Rolex in your collection? If not, I would lean toward getting one to round out the collection. That's just me though.

No Rolex in my collection yet, the only two that attract my attention is the Deepsea and DDII. Too early for the DDII, so the Deepsea is my choice for now. But I am really torn between the two.

Show Off!

BTW, I'm for the the 236. I may possibly be the only guy on this forum who is as yet unimpressed by the DSSD.

I have both 236 much more wrist time. Out of 40 or so watches my 236 is the go to watch. I do like the deep sea just not more than my 236. I wear my 236 more than 233 270 Daytonas DSSD Millies etc combined.

then I'd say DSSD - but both are great...chances are you'll have both in the future anyway...it's just a matter of which one first. Good luck

The 236 just looks fantastic, and that bracelet compliments it very well too. Just a great package.

The Deep-Sea is a brilliant piece of rock solid equipment. It's almost impossible to find a stronger tool watch with a movement to match.

I think that for my personal usage I'd have to go with the 236 as that is the watch that I feel would be more akin to my personal requirements.

By the way, what is the going price for a mint condition 236?

Like New condition should be going somewhere around $6,500-$7,000. New can be found around $8,250 from online dealers.

Definately the Deepsea. The 236 is nice, but the Deepsea is in a class all by itself. It's a keeper for sure. I've had mine for over a year and still love it. Good luck with your choice.

SDDS is not my kind of watch. Look like SD with steroid to me.
If you like chrono watch like 236, GO FOR IT.

I wish, but my crazy spending days will be over after this purchase. That's why I need to make sure this is it. Thanks!
