Louis Vuitton - Tambour love diamond watch

My wife has decided that she absolutely wants this watch. Well I hate it the idea of buying a Louis Vuitton watch. You might as well buy a knock off as they probably come out of the same Chinese factory. This has to be the number one knocked off fashion watch out there.

But to be fair to my wife I promised to look into the Tambour.

Does anyone or their wife own this watch? I would like to get your comments on it. I’d like to know about the quality, construction, movement.

Thanks,
Arron

Hello there!
My good friend (girl) and her boyfriend bought pair of Tambour chronographs couple of months ago. Man, the quality of that timepiece is really good. It`s very solid and robust, but with really fantastic finish. It`s easily comparable with Cartier, or Bvlgari. And those chrono`s had ETA movements inside, nothing too fancy, but strong and reliable. I`ve heard that there is version with Zenith El primero movement inside, and that would be really something!
My conclusion would be, they`re really solid watches, but way too expensive for fashion watches that they, without a doubt, are.
If I were you, I would stick to buying Louis Vuitton handbags for your wife, and about watches...well, there are many beautiful ladies models in Cartier line, or Rolex, why not?

While I would not pick a LV watch as a company I have to say they are great to deal with. A+ service in the stores, in service or on the phone.

Solid watch but it is still a fashion watch. Really its like most watches the majority of women wear and its really the same as buying any manys watch that use an ETA movement when it really comes down to it.

I am not sure but isn't your Tudor an ETA???

Yeah, of course it is, ETA 2824-2.
And Breitlings, some IWC`s, Longines, Baume&Mercier, even Ullise Nardin...they all use their calibers.
I like ETA movements, just sometimes it doesn`t seem right to me that same movements can be found in low and mid-priced watches and in watches in same price range as Rolex.
But, I must be honest, ETA 2824-2 in my Tudor Prince, and in my dad`s Breitling is really in the same range with Rolex movements that I had before.

My issue with the Louis Vuitton watch is that it is still a fashion watch. I'm not sure what quality ETA movement is in it, OEM or reworked. I feel like I would be buying a swatch and paying Rolex prices (used). I know my Tudor has an ETA movement but as a package I feel the watch is just better than a Louis Vuitton. I would not be so opposed to the watch if it was at a price in line with what I feel the watch should retail for. If the price was $1,600 it wouldn’t bother me so much. I’m still looking in to the watch for her.
