SS Daytona Availability in Texas?

Hi
Is there a long waiting list in Texas for a SS Daytona, how often do you see them in the AD window. My brother lives outside Houston and it may be an option as the waiting list here in the uk is long.
Thanks

Not sure about Houston, but I was in Dallas over the weekend and went into Bockendorf's (in the Galleria) and they didn't have any SS Daytonas. They had several WG, Everose and TT variants, however. They even had one of the diamond pave examples, but sadly nothing in SS.

Have your brother ask the Ben Bridge Jeweler at the Galleria store to run a stock check of their stores in TX. They have several in Houston and in the Dallas area. They will transfer from one to another within the state.

Yes, they can be found in Texas. Have your brother call some of the smaller market stores for a SS Daytona. They may not sell out of their immediate territory, but it's worth a try.

Torneu in the Galleria laughed when I asked, Donoho's said they aren't adding any names to their list and Thomas Markle said it was "for VIP customers only". Even if they had one, I wouldn't have bough from Thomas Markle anyway - that place makes me feel "dirty" when I go there (so, I haven't been in there for a long time lol).

Good luck with your search.

Unfortunately, that is not an isolated thing with some AD's that I have been to as well. Where a VIP customer is defined as someone who will basically be willing pay msrp for another model with minimal discount (maybe 12%) on a ladies all gold watch with diamonds (for example).

Only then that customer is offered the privilege of buying something more difficult to find, like the SS Daytona or something else they "happen" to have in the store somewhere for their VIP customers.

Obviously it works for these places as they seem to do very well, so I can't really judge them I guess.

I hate to say it - but it works well. I was actually thankful that my AD allowed me the privilege of buying the SS Daytona. I have said it before, they are either as hard to get as advertised or the best marketing/sales bluff I have ever seen. Honestly, it's the only item in my life that I have had the money available and the desire and had to "work" to find one to sell it to me.

I do know that I have been a good customer at one store and was happy that they sold me the SS Daytona. I didn't have to pay retail for other jewelry but I have been a customer for years, bought several watches and referred at least 5 people between me and my wife that have purchased Rolexes or other high end jewelry from them. When the SS Daytona came in and he knew we were looking, we got the call.
