Vintage Sub Date 1983 or 1985?
For my next watch I would like to get a Rolex Sub Date.
I was thinking to go vintage...and the years 1983 and 1985 have a special significance for me. Was there any technical difference between Subs made in these years? What price range should I expect? I know dating with serial numbers is an inexact science, but any thoughts from the TRF community (ideally with pictures) would be most appreciated. Many thanks. |

You would talking about a 16800......1983 would have had the MATT Dial and the 1985 would have had the Gloss dial.....

As Clay said the dial would be the only thing. Matt would be my choice.
