Buy it --enjoy it--it is an awesome watch!! If you have a smaller wrist--you might not like it as much. For me--it wears very well! Go for it!!

Pros - Glidelock bracelet, Maxi-dial with new blue lume, thicker & heavier case that gives the watch the highest depth rating in the world for a mechanical watch, new ceramic bezel and some minor tweaks to the movement, relative lack of popularity which means you'll probably be able to negotiate a discount.
Cons -its size and thickness isn't to everyone's taste and some critics think the bracelet is too narrow for the watch's body. Best to wear for as long as possible in the shop and see if it grabs you. Good luck! ![]() PS Personally, I think it's an outstanding watch. |

It's completely personal preference....
I tried one on last year...And I'm a big guy.......WAY to thick for my taste.....
But there are plenty of people who like it.... To each his own... Good luck.... |

When I bought mine, I found reading the time a little different (domed and very thick crystal), however this subsides within a few days.
They are, in my eyes much easier to wear than a lot of non-owners perceive and have no problems under cuffs/jackets etc. Whilst you will be aware it's there, it doesn't smack door frames, as you don't just automatically crash a car if you get in and drive a wider one!! Pound for pound, dollar for dollar, I feel it is the best value steel sports watch to buy, and firmly believe there will be one day very very soon where it's popularity and demand will increase dramatically. Enjoy it!! |

Great watch!
The only downside for me was the case height but you would not even notice unless looking at it from the side. It wears very comfortable when sized properly. I love the domed crystal. You won't be disappointed!

I wore a GMT2 T/Tfor years untill I bought this watch. It never comes off and the added bonus is the glidelock, as I tend to suffer slight variations on my wrist size at different times and it is really cool that it can be adjusted to stay at the right tension in seconds, whereas my GMT would end up being too loose and on my hand most of the time. You certainly know you have it on, but even with shirt sleeves, it is not a problem....you will love it! |

Had one..
Have a look at this picture:
![]() I found mine comfortable on my 8.25 inch wrist... However you are wearing an awful lot of steel in order to simply read the time. Huge case. Fat shiny bezel. Thick domed crystal. As you can see the simple Explorer is far easier to read then the DeepSea's cramped and cluttered dial IMHO. As well it is hard to read from any angle and the date window is far too small lacking proportion for certain. Overall really it appears to be a Rolex on steroids....but the build quality and advances are all wonderful...you might want to consider a Sub-C. |

I'm still of the opinion that it is NOT a watch for everyone and it is not the ultimate dive watch ever made - it is too thick and heavy for that (and the dial could be a bit larger), however, it is the most EXTREME dive watch ever made.

No ones opinion counts..but yours!!!
I have a sub and GMTIIc, the downside for me was the thickness of the case and I would have liked a wider bracelet to match the size. I have no issue with the larger size dial at 43mm. The helium ring does nothing for me. I have a pam 111 and its 13mm thick, 18mm is huge. Cannot go wrong with the Sub c, The deepsea is a sub on juice, uniquie and over engineered. Why didn't Rolex up the new Sub and GMT II to 42-43mm? They're all great.. The only question you have to ask yourself is can I live with the bulk? But you already know this.... Will the bulk bother you 3 months later? Also one thought would bond 2010 wear a Deepsea or Subc |

Pro: It's an awesome lump of Rolex.
Con: The SubC is available. I'd consider a subc for everyday use over the DSSD. It is a marvellous feat of engineering though. |

When I first got it, I thought I made a mistake. Now, it is the only watch I wear on the weekends. If nothing else, it is the only one of my Rolexes that has real "wrist presence."

I have a 7.5 inch wrist so I think my wrist was made for it ;)
All Rolex are pretty Extreme but I have to admit it does catch ur eye that wee bit easier due to it's bulk, I admit I love the bulk look and my daily eco drive is a nice size 2,mind you it's defo the baby brother now, can't wait to get some pic's up ;) Jim. |

I love mine.
Pros.--> Rare, Not too many people wear them in the "wild". QUALITY MATERIAL and OVER ENGINEERED. NIce and comfortable. CON.-->Too much Material, so eventually you will scratch it. Divers extension will scuff a little bit with the ratchet. The band, in my opinion, needs to be wider. Im not a fan of the taper. Check out the size! Al
