Lane from s.c., if you still need a service>>>

Now you can send me your watches when you need some service.

Here I will show you how it works.

I start with the universal case holder.

Itīs no problem to get it open with correct tools.

The I use the crown release tool

And the tiny crown holder.

Then I pull out the movement.

The crown holder itīs a multi tool who can pull off the
hands too. Unfortunately it didnīt works on chronographs.

Then I will looking for things that not will be in place
until next service. I found out the logo need some new glue.

I have to do some works with the hands, the condition
is bad and some minor adjustments will help.

Time to see whats up below the dial.

Nothing fancy, just the date wheel.

So I have to pull off the date wheel to get a little
deeper inside the movement.

Not so many parts left here.

You have to be careful when you pull off the rotor, itīs
easy to damage it.

This time i was lucky, no problems to get it off.

Now I will pull off the rotor bearing bridge.

That was easy too.

And the special halfgear that shows itīs a real Rolex.

The 3 part balance wheel.

A closer look at it.

See next post..........................

I really like your service but I think as you said your crown pulling tool, also suitable for getting the hands off but not for chronographs, so when you would give a satisfactory demonstration n availability of tools for chronographs I would be glad to have my daytona serviced with such precision.
Gr8 post Jocke. Keep up the good work.

Jocke, I love YOUR love for watches, and the care and delicate way you disassembled that fine timepiece.

You operate like a skilled surgeon!

I'm sending you my pride and joy immediately for a full overhaul, as I think the Rolex is overrated.

Oh, I will also include a blank cheque, just fill in the numbers.

John.

Hey Jocke,

With all those tools at your disposal, wouldn't it have been easier to just do this?

How about putting a SD or Sub into a secure container filled with diet coke, then add a pack of Mentos and secure the lid so all the pressure is internal!

Well, the watch would have survived just fine, until Prez suggested unscrewing the crown!

I wish you lived around here, I would like to buy you a beer!! You hate fakes more than me. Are you in the demolition business? Anyway, great post, lots of laughs. I`ll think about the service. ;-)

Thank you, Jocke, for that most instructive demonstration. Now where can I get those precision tools so I can try that at home.
