This may come as a surprise to some......

In light of recent threads I thought I would clarify a few things. Yes, believe it or not you can go swimming or get in the hot tub with your Rolex. You can also wear it doing daily activities, or to baseball games. Winding your watch will NOT hurt it. Running any of the functions is also going to be just fine, and will not harm your Rolex, as it is designed to do so. Yes you will get scratches on the watch, it is inevitable. Wear your watches people, enjoy them there is no reason to baby them, or worry about what other people think about you or your watch. Go diving, swimming, kayaking, flying, racing, or play catch with your kids, do anything you would normally do with a watch on trust me you will be much happier and less stressed. Your Rolex is a hell of a lot tougher than a lot of people think, hence the reason some have been around for so long, and have such great stories to tell. No offense intended to anyone, I have just noticed several threads recently asking what I consider silly questions about wearing their Rolex in everyday situations. I hope everyone is having a great day!

I'd still avoid chopping wood, or shooting heavily recoiling firearms.

What about shooting wood with heavily recoiling firearms to chop it? I think that's ok, you can use the bezel to time how long it takes.

It is now, it don't look like they recovered all of the pieces.

The person took the watch off before mowing, then ended up running over it.

I know several people, including my father, uncle, and a cousin who all shoot many different types of firearms, and chop wood amongst other activities. Actually I am not able to recall any of them ever taking their watches off in at least 10 years. As a matter of fact my uncles only source of heat is a wood burning stove, so he chops quite a bit of wood every year.

75% of the Rolex General section is threads like that. What're you gonna do about it? It isn't going to change.

I understand and this kind of post also occurs about once every other week. But life goes on, and there are still enough interesting things that take place here that I keep coming back.

I no longer feel it is safe to wear a rolex while reading the rolex forum as I can't resist banging my watch on my computer.

You forgot to mention that people should buy the watch they like and not worry about which one the stranger on the forum prefers :/

Yes you you can shoot firearms while wearing a Rolex, many gangsters in the past have done so with a Rolex on their wrist. I got to try this underwater golf sounds interesting, hmmm.
