This morning I went to adjust the glidelock clasp on the Sub-C and it would not move. The bracelet would not budge from the clasp. I tried and tried and the clasp was stuck and would not move. I called Rolex Dallas and they said to bring it in to a local AD. They said they have not seen this problem with the glidelock and the local AD would have a watch tech there that could fix the clasp. I took it the the AD with my warranty card and the watch tech there tried everything he knew to get the clasp to release the bracelet to be adjusted and he could not get it to move. Long story short the watch is in route to Rolex to have the watched fixed.

That sucks. Please keep us posted here as to what Rolex does to remedy this. I figure if it is jammed up like you describe, they will replace the glidelock clasp which is not cheap ($1400 from what I understand).

Did you manage to unlock the glidelock portion of the clasp, but would not slide for adjustment or the glidelock itself would not unlock for adjustment?

The glidelock itself would not allow the bracelet to unlock. I am very interested to see what they find and how they fix the problem.

That's not good news......
I hope it's just a gummed up system causing the problem. (Dirt etc.)

The ad tried to clean the clasp in an ultrasonic cleaner but that did not work.

On second thoughts, is there a possibility somebody played a prank on you and smeared super glue in the glidelock?

I wish I think that will be an easier fix.

I think something had to have gotten in there to jam the glidelock causing it not to unlock. This would drive me crazy as I only have one Rolex and is my daily watch (116610LV)

I am thinking that one of the bracelet screws became loose and backed out a bit when I set the glidelock the night before. This screw then became a wedge holding the bracelet in the clasp.

I think that is a viable hypothesis; I was looking at the clasp on my bracelet and can see how that could happen if one of the link screws backed out. I'm glad I locktited each screw after fitting my bracelet. If this indeed did occur, it is going to take some force to get it out. At a minimum, the protruding link screw that caused this will be damaged and need to be replaced. I bet that would gouge the crap out of the clasp as well. Let's hope that Rolex will replace the clasp.

I have very thick wrists and did not need to mess with the links and screws and never even thought to keep an eye on the screws. We will see what Rolex finds.

Well I wouldn't have sent the whole watch to Rolex. They will tell you the thing needs more than what you originally brought it in for. THEN that will take a long time.

You SHOULD HAVE had them remove the bracelet from the watch, and have sent in only the bracelet. Now your whole Rolex is w/them. Hope they don't charge you for things that just happen to apparently be "out of warrenty". LOL... Better watch out for that!

Don't think that he will have any problem since the Sub with glidelock clasp was announced by Rolex less than two years ago.

Rolex coverer the Glidelock clasp under warrenty. I just picked up the watch and it is working perfectly!!!!

I had that happen to my Hulk and I was finally able to work the clasp loose, I found the link screw had backed out and caused it to bind up. I tightened the snot out of it and it has stayed put. I do check the bracelet screws from time to time now.

I think that is what happened to mine, but I was not able to free up the Glidelock. Rolex was very vague and just said they fixed the clasp.

I tightened the snot out of it and it has stayed put. I do check the bracelet screws from time to time now.
