Keep daytona or sub-c?

I have the chance of moving on another watch that I am really after but I'll have to sell one of my watches for it. Narrowed down to black faced daytona or sub. I am struggling on which to flip. So asking the forum members.

A day date, I have saved up so much cash, but need to free up a little more. I could buy it on credit but rather pay for it out right.

I waited for a year for my daytona and I just looked at it now and it is stunning, the sub c is a great watch and lovely too. But I know I could pick up one at any time.

I would keep the SubC if you are moving on a dress watch. It will be a nice daily watch to have.

Sorry to clarify its a day date II. I like both sub c and daytona very much but I am not willing to buy the watch unless its completely paid for out right, so hence reason to flip one.

Personally, i would keep the Daytona. Sounds to me like you would too.
Your words... Dayton is 'stunning'... Sub C is (merely) 'great'.
Decision seems pretty clear.

I can't imagine anything worth selling either of those beauties to obtain.

Personally I think it would be a mistake to get rid of either, as you like them both. I would flip the one you think you would miss the least, and I don't think the Daytona is that difficult to get.

Keep the Daytona and the Sub C, and forget about the Day Date II! Those two are better choices! (And save yourself some money while you are at it)

As mentioned, I'd hold on to both. Save up for the DDII.

Good luck!

I am in the same boat. Except I have the GMT instead of sub. I really want the white dial exp 2 and was considering flipping either the black ss Daytona or the GMT. I have been leaning towards flipping the Daytona only because at times it seems a little to small for my liking. I am afraid I would regret it though.

Simon and Dan, as already stated, I would keep what I have and continue saving to get the new watch of your choices. Otherwise down the road I think you would regret it!!!

I would drop the Sub. Much easier to find the subs and you see less Daytona's around.

Daytona would be GONE!
Sorry, had a few and just have never been impressed by them.

BUT

I am not a fan of the bezel on the DD II either.

Tough call but if those were my options the Daytona would be GONE!

Flip the sub-c, they are the most common.

Get rid of the Daytona whilst you can still get a good price for them

I think the price increases have caught up with the SS Daytona and limiting the profit flippers can make. 12K to 13K for any SS watch is pretty ridiculous no matter how cool or iconic the watch is. Still blows my mind I paid $3350.00 BNIB for my Rolx Sub date and they are $8,000.00 now.

Wouldn't sell nothing for a DDII, if it was the classic 36mm i'd consider it.
