Aren't you guys supposed to be hush-hush?

Almost all of my male relatives are, also former work partners and employees.

Me, no.

Couldn't do one of the "O"s.

Always been intrigued but don't know enough to have the courage to walk into a temple (if that's what it is called).

Can anyone shed some light as to what is required to join or duties expected from members?

Have no fear, you will not regret it!
Believe in the immortality of the soul
Believe in one Supreme Diety
No felony convictions
Over 21 years old, some jurisdictions allow 18 years of age
Well recommended (references not need to be Masons)
If your father or grandfather were Masons you are a legacy
Be prepare to give and ye shall receive, it is like a bank account, you get what you put into it.
Hope you see the light! The

I am not really sure what masons are or what they represent. This conversation has been brought up with my friends and they make it seem like its frowned upon but who am I to judge since i don't know anything about the lifestyle.

There has always been speculation that the rapper Jay-Z is a Mason.

At one point I wanted to join, but could never hold to the whole "God" requirement with them...

but now I'm a convert to another religion, go figure!

As a Catholic, I would be excommunicated from the church. I'll stay Catholic.

That all depends on how the Pope feels that day....we've been cast out and taken back almost a dozen times. I'm Catholic and I have no fear of excommunication or damnation.....I live a "good" life for the most part.

Don't want to get into a religious debate because this is not the place for it, and is against the rules here, but if you claim to be a catholic, you need to read this:
http://www.consecration.com/default.aspx?id=46
http://www.cuf.org/faithfacts/details_view.asp?ffID=103
And read this book:
http://www.marianland.com/tanfreemas...tbemasons.html
I'm done.

I read your links and my only comments are that whoever wrote those had bad info about Freemasonry. They are FULL of false statements about Masonry.
