The Japan only limited edition green Datejust

So I was in Mitsukoshi department store yesterday. A somewhat higher end department store in Japan but also and AD. Absolutely under no conditions discounts. Firm pricing.

Nice to have a look though.

So yesterday I spotted this. The only made for Japan 600 (so I hear) only made limited edition green second hand/date wheel/datejust writing on the dial two tone Turn-o-graph datejust. One of those pieces that might be worth buying, not taking the stickers off of and storing for 10 years Rolex. Not really something I have the fortitude to do. I would eventually peel the stickers off and wear it.

Anyway, Sam had mentioned about it so I PMed him telling him I finally saw one in Japan. His first question. "Did you get some pics?" Doooooooooh! No. I had not.

Went back today and hear you are folks. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics.

I remember you mentioned the MSRP was like US$11500.00
Wish I could afford it like Sam.
Thanks for the update and pictures.

Well there was one in the store today. Funny thing was it was a D serial number. So I told the salesan that this might be a bit old and his reply was "In Japan a D serial number is new."

So it is not just an American thing where Rolex salespeople tend to either not know or bend things a bit to get a sale. Trust me there was not a line forming to buy Rolex in there yesterday or today.

Sales talk . . . .
But I am afraid that there are a lot of people who don't know what these salespeople are talking about.
A 'D' serial Rolex . . . ?

God that we have TRF !

I am surprised the salesman didn't have a third cousin that works in Switzerland that gives him reports on the new models being unveiled at Basel in 2016... hahahahah!!!!

Great looking watch! I love TOGs although the Japan LE is not worth $10K plus, in my book.

I agree 150% with you. It's the allure of acquiring a one off Rolex piece that gets me

That's a little high for what it is. I guess Rolex is cashing in on the LE market.

Looks like it has the rehaut inside.
So it is newly engraved rehaut case as oppose to the old D serials without.

Didn't they switch to random lettering a year or so ago? Any chance it's actually new and just randomly got the "D" number?

Just did the math. 934.500 Japanese Yen = $11,240.04.

Hope that is right.

It says 890000 under it so which one is the real price? That confused me when I first looked at it. Maybe a Japanese thing?

The little touches of Rolex green work quite nicely here.

The 934500 is after tax and the 890000 yen is before tax. The price is almost a DSSD or SS Daytona.
