FS: Rolex President Ref: 1802 Rare & Collectible

One of the oldest Rolex model in production has been the Day-Date (President)
... since 1956 to be exact, and it is still being manufactured today !!

Made for presidents literally... this rolex model with the day and date display
was, is, and it will always be the most successfull wristwatch any watch company
ever produced - not to mention the most expensive.

So this nice looking president from 1977 is for sale with reference number 1802
which was made during the last leg of it's model production - rolex has used an 1803
screw back in line with the practices at Solex S.A. back then.
So do not be surprised when you see the back stamped 1803 it was not replaced.
Also the fluted bezel is original to the watch - the domed/smooth bezels
had been fazed out and rolex was using the fluted bezels from the 1803 I have a picture
of an 1802 day date head so you see the smooth bezel.

In 1977 we have the beggining of the sapphire crystal for this model and of course as you know
this is the single quick date change with ref: 18038 - so they were made in parallel production lines - good

Serial number 5.051.237 non quick set with acrylic crystal, "step dial" Cal: 1555/6 - 25Jewels
with a president style bracelet 18k solid gold in average condition and my price reflects this.
The way it hangs (see picture below) is acceptable for a 36 year old watch.
Mechanically superb and ticking nicely to regular rolex standards
but not checked for atomic clock precision..it will fit most wrists up to 8.1/4.

I think it was recently serviced but not sure so do not take it to the bank - if service is needed
I can do it for you for $150 plus parts - as I said only if needed...you do not have to pay hundreds
or thousands of dollars to service a Rolex - ...you can take this to the bank !
