A 'fun' but sad vid on restoring ROC Tourbillon
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPUdTM5XSWY
I'm sorry to say this but the owner must be an idiot. How did he manage to get the watch that wrecked? Unreal. |

i think once a tiny bit of water/moisture gets in there, its game over. still i would never let those guys fix it. even from the video you can tell their watchmaker isnt the greatest

Makes you wonder why AP would take a year to complete this when they managed this within a few months?

Very interesting video! I did not think this could be done by a watch maker outside of AP.

I would never have the courage to give such an expensive timepiece to a 3rd party for restoration, but then I would never have afforded treating it in a such manner too :-)
All said the end result is really good!!! |

I know a guy that has a rose gold RO tourbillon; he went golfing with it and the tourby got 'messed up'. He had to send it back to AP and all is fine now.
Fair play to him for wanting to use and wear the thing, but you don't take a Ferrari mud racing. |

I couldn't imagine treating a Tourb like that. They did a nice job of restoring the piece

A watch like that needs the love of AP. Not bad though...

I must say that the owner of the watch has some serious guts!
For me, I would definitely send back these complicated pieces back to AP for 'spa'.

If you had that watch...why on earth would you not send it back to AP and get it fixed properly?!
I know nothing about assembling watches...but surely shoving on the small hands whilst the movement was actually moving was bad practice?! |

How is that possible? 250K for a watch and its not waterproof?
If anyone else can post some other videos like that I would love to see more about watch making, watches.... |
