Help me: Rolex Exp II 216570 or Speedy 9300

GOT to get a new watch at this point but having difficulty deciding between these two.

Other watches in the cabinet at this point include:
* 14060 (two-liner)
* Sea Dweller
* DSSD
* Pepsi
* WG Daytona Meterorite (on black croc)
* IWC Aquatimer 2000 (on rubber)
* Omega PO 2500 (on bracelet and rubber)
* Patek Aquanaut jumbo (on bracelet)

Very much appreciate your opinion and rationale. Thanks!

Considering you current Rolex lineup, I'd go for the Omega.

You need a white dial.

But I'd recommend the polar 16570 instead of the 216570.

Great point

Wife wears the polar 16570, so can't go there.
And I failed to mention that Aquatimer has white dial.
Thanks!

Would you consider waiting a bit for the 'Dark Side of the Moon' Basel release if you are looking at a Speedy 9300?

It's a win either way.
Get a 216570. It'll compliment your wife's watch nicely.

this one is easy. explorer II.

if you were talking the classic speedmaster, i probably would have said that one.

the 9300 is way, way, way too thick and leaves me a bit cold.

Speedmaster considering what you have now. I don't care for the new "dark side of the moon" version but whatever floats your boat.

Yes I agree. Omega have flogged the Moon connection to death and to me, it's getting overdone.

I think the 42mm explorer is the sharpest watch on the market today.

Go for that. No question about it.

Why not a Speedy Pro 3570? The real deal is nicer than the new 9300 version.

IMO, the 216570 is the nicest Rolex on the market.

The 9300 movement is so good. The chronograph just feels so good when you run it. I would have it over every watch in the price range and that includes the 216570. Omega also have a better warranty, service interval and service price than Rolex.

Have you checked out the Speedmaster 57 range from Basel 2013? They are 41.5mm opposed to 44.25. The 44 was too big for me but I have a very good feeling about the 41.5mm one. There's a blue dial version that's calling my name. You can also use the 9300 watches as a GMT function if you start the chrono at midnight in the country.

Since we can't wear two watches at the same. I do get enjoyment from looking at my wife's watch. Therefore, while your wife has the Exp II polar 16570, I would pick the regular or dark side speedy 9300.

I think the Omega is a better watch by a wide margin....but goodness, did they have to make a hockey puck out of it.
For that reason alone I'd take the Rolex in this case , which by the way happens to be one hell of a watch in it's own right.
Rolex.
