Omega Shots!!

Just a few shots of my Omega's.

The old Seamaster is so understated compared with many newer models but I think it still has a certain elegance about it.

Any comments appreciated!

I still have a Speedmaster, but the vintage that I used to own got sold a couple of years ago. I never used it, but I miss it.

Here are some pics of my vintage. Mine was manual wind.














I'll have to agree... the vintage Omegas have a certain timeless elegance to them.
Just wish that they were larger than 34mm. At the end of the day... that's why mine got sold.

I like the black and white shots, they have a classy look to them! My Seamaster belonged to my dad before he gave it to me, so I would never sell mine!

I hang onto my dad's old Seamaster too.. Some things you can't put a price on..

Wow... great pics of some really great watches...!!

Indeed, I agree as well: vintage Omegas really have something very special
to them! Not to speak of the great & interesting history of Omega, filled with
historical & horological landmarks...

I hope it is ok for me to add a few pics of some my favorite vintage
Omegas out of my collection.

Here's the classic "Cosmic" with full calendar and moon-phase. The one
that found its way to my collection is from 1947.



The movement is Omega's very own cal. 27 DL PC AM, that was - from 1948
or 1949 I think - renamed to "cal. 381" to reflect the new nomenclature
of Omega's calibres. It is a 27mm movt that resembles the looks (and is
probably based on) Omega's classic 30mm calibre:





The dial has aged quite a lot, but has mostly a very nice looking and rather
"even" patina, so I have left it as is... Maybe, when it is time for it to go back to Bienne,
I'll have it replaced (but certrainly not refinished).



And here's another beauty (well to my eyes at least): my beloved
Flightmaster! It is a first generation model (ST145.013) from late 1969 or early 1970,
with original yellow hands:









What makes her tick is the Omega cal. 910, based on the more
famous cal. 861 (of Speedy fame) itself being a next-gen upgrade
of the legendary cal. 321.

In its "simple" but functional finish it is lovely to look at:











The "Flighty" is not as famous as its legendary brother, the "Speedy",
but it still is a great and extremely useful & functional watch with its
own very distinct style; a style the sometimes shouts at you
(quite loudly, that is): "WEAR ME, WEAR ME...!!!"

I hope you like these 2 vintage Omegas as well... both the Cosmic and the Flightmaster are not widely known,
but I think they deserve better somehow...

Keep them coming... let us see more nice Omegas...!!!

It is quite a big watch, but it wears nicely on the wrist as the "tonneau"
shaped case (sometimes also called "pilot" line cases at Omega and by
many collectors) shapes nicely on the wrist and somehow "hides" the size
a bit...

The size of it is roughly:
width (w/o crown): 42.5mm & 45.5mm with crown(s)
length (lug-end to lug-end): 52.5mm
and it is roughly 14.5mm thick

There's a wonderful article about the Flightmaster written by Mr. Chuck Maddox,

It is a great & informative read (as is everything by Mr. Maddox), and his
contributions are really appreciated!

Very nice shots of your Omegas--thank you. I agree that many of these models enjoy a simple elegance in design which stands the test of time rather well. These watches often continuing working well 50-60 years later, as long as they are regularly serviced. Thanks!
