AP RO 15400 or Panerai Ceramica GMT Tuttonero PAM 438
Hi everyone,
I am in the middle of deciding between an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Self-Winding 15400 (APRO) and a Panerai Ceramica GMT Tuttonero PAM 438. They are quite different but each watch has its own beauty. Since lots of members on the forum have such a good taste, may I ask which one would you choose for your next watch? Any advices, thoughts would be highly appreciated. Two very different watches IMO. Since you already have an AP I'm going to say PAM. And just FYI you have a Jumbo pictured, not a 15400

i'm with chris in terms of giving PAM a spin this time out. it would shake things up a bit in your collection.
however, if you want the ceramic with arabics, i would suggest the 441 over the 438. why? because, for me, one of the great things about panerai is the endless strap options. therefore, i wouldn't want to pay extra for the ceramic bracelet. good luck with the choice. and, to add, the 508, 335 and 317 are great ceramic Luminor options, too. |

The PAM seems to change up the collection a bit but I'm not really that into that watch...so between the two, still 15400.

Normally I would say AP but I tried the 441 on at the boutique a few months back and I nearly bought it lol

I'd get the PAM (also prefer the strap)-- the AP overlaps too much with the one you already have.

I'd take the AP. If you're looking for a GMT, why not get the RO Dual Time?

Normally i'd say AP however i'm going with panerai, since you have a similar AP already !
Panerais are special, tons of character, strap changes, etc etc I'm a big AP collector and equally so with panerai :) |

I'd never buy a full DLC. The first coating scratch would drive me nuts.

Now that's a different story. Didn't know Panerai was making full ceramic cases now.

Did you try on the PAM? It is going to feel a lot different than anything else in your current collection.
That AP is a classic though, and would be my first choice. |

Yeah, that's a pretty big shift. I personally prefer the white steel PAMs, uncomplicated models, to me they just don't look as good with the busier dials complications add. I'd think that a bit more variety on the Rolex front would be good as well, they're going to be very similar to the casual observer.

You have to try it on. I thought I would love it but the bracelet was meh at best. They had a lot of problems with the development of the bracelet, which is why there was such a long delay between the announcement and the release of this watch.
