Incoming to cap off my 2 week stint in manhattan

Made a great deal with Artice at cellini on Madison and finally landed my first AP!

Pics to follow tomorrow as I had it shipped to NJ

So proud to finally have an AP in the rotation. Enough admiring this great house from afar!

It's a daily wear piece so don't get too excited folks :)

AP Saturday!

Hello

Very happy with my first AP! Took me a long time to decide between the 15400 blue/black/silver, the jumbo and the SS and ceramic diver.

In the end the divers weren't for me weight wise and sadly the jumbo was swallowed up by my 7.5 flat wrist. I really tried hard but knew the jumbo looked minuscule.

The dial decision was dictated by the fact that I like dark dials in general and I feel this dial is a bit more low key than silver. I found the silver to be a bit monotone at times, in regards to dial matching bracelet. Other times it really pops though so I understand why it is so popular here! Blue meant going boutique and to be honest, I have concerns AP will eventually release it to ADs.

I find this piece to be a good value in the AP line for a daily piece. My thoughts are to sell my gmt 2c ln and slot this in alongside lvc and aquanaut, but that decision has yet to be made.

I realize the 15400 is a tad large for the purists but I feel on my size wrist the portions are within reason. Also love the relatively thin case, which when compared to my sub and aquanaut it sits right in the middle.

The rotor is to die for ! Enough said.

Very happy to finally have a royal oak!

Very nice! I purchased my first AP at Cellini (Waldorf) as well! Mine was the silver 15400, and was soon joined by a few cousins. Be careful, before you know it you will have a stable of APs!

Nothing like a Crispy AP.

That's the term my RSC person said when he asked to look at my 15300 through his loupe. Any watch guy can appreciate the attention to detail and craftsmanship!

Enjoy that lovely black dial!

Thanks Alex. I'm feeling the draw already! Same feeling as when I bought my first Rolex and PP. A very special brand indeed.

Indeed they do. To be honest I escaped with more money than expected. Could have easily spent more lol the trick was I bought a watch instead if squandering it on clothes I'll be bored of next year

Indeed this watch oozes craftsmanship! I was worried about the bracelet being too shiny, but outside the AD in real lighting it's just perfect! And the dial is so very clean! Just the way I like them.

Thanks Neil! Plenty of time to add something in gold down the road When I asked to see the black dial 15400 the sales associate initially grabbed the rose gold model on bracelet I said "I wish"

Haha I know exactly what you mean mate, they are amazing, but I've lost quite a bit of weight this year and 0.25 inches off my wrist so can't handle a full gold AP now I think , so will have a strong look at a PP RG on strap next year.
