How about whichever way makes the bezel useful for setting a different time zone?

This. If you aren't using the second time zone, there is little point in this watch.

Meh - I removed the GMT-hand to transform it to an ordinary watch, just to keep the amazing blue bezel insert.

And, I removed the gaskets at the crown of my Submariner since I don't dive much either.

Heck, just remove all the hands and make your watches into really cool bracelets.

That would be the ultimate in cool--a man who appreciates exquisite mechanisms, but has not need for the time of day.

Black over blue, represents the horizon at daybreak and nightfall.

Yup. When I travel I just spin the bezel to indicate local time on the gmt hand. I don't like fussing with the movement and this is easier anyway. When abroad I like to have my local home time on the watch hands. The blue for day black for night of this bezel is a very nice feature when using the bezel this way. Definitely the way it should have been from the beginning and the perfection of the GMT bezel in my opinion. When not needing local time abroad it goes back to 24 hour mark at the top so I can read GMT for work.

In what ever position the bezel is functioning for its purpose.

That's why you stick with all black bezels....clears up the confusion and no polls needed

Black on top unless I'm actually using the bezel to determine the time in a different zone.

Given the hour hands on my watch are synched to home time as the default I prefer the bezel marker straight up at 12 o'clock.
