I compared Jura and Krups, both very nice machines with fantastic products. In the end, I went to Krups EA82 as service spand spares are easier to get. Jura is a fantastic product, but I could not find a service center close-by. My 2 cents here.

Thanks for your input Gerardo. How is the Krups so far? does it give you any issues?

I am on my second Jura within 15 years and couldn't be happier.

IMO the coffee tastes (don't save money on the coffee!!!) better than from any other machine.

What you must know is that these (regardless of the brand) need to have seals changed and full service every 2-3 years.

With Jura, the good thing is that you are finding D-I-Y manuals over the net and you can save a lot by just buying the seals and do it yourself - alternatively buy a new brewing-unit for cheap and replace the whole thing.

Unless you really need the small size, I'd not go with the Micro - the standard brewing-unit is much easier to find/service.

If you like Cappuccino, the A9 may be the machine of your choice. Noone does the foam better than the "Feinschaum" System.

Thank you for your input. Regarding servicing the machine, do you mean that the machine need to be taken a part for service or simply just using cleaning and descaling tablet?

I go through cleaning and descaling tablets like pop corn and they have nothing to do with service.

No, I stick to Siemens and therefore have eliminated service.

I find it cheaper and more convinient to just replace the machine every 4-6 years.

Cleaning and descaling I do regularly.

Servicing the brewing unit means to tear it down and replace the seals and some other parts. Regardless of the manufacturer these machines will leak water after 2-3 years.

Agree, they all do except Siemens.

I fully agree.

I have a Jura Impressa that is running strong for seven years now and I use it a lot. Only thing I´ve done so far is that I´ve replaced the grinding stone of the mill unit a few months ago as it was worn. The seal replacement job I´ll do sometime later this year although my machine is not leaking (yet).

The DIY manuals available on the web are very good and you can do all the service tasks yourself. Spare parts are available quite cheap from several web stores.

I have a Jura Capresso that I've owned for 4 years. Works flawlessly and produces the best tasting coffee I have ever had. With routine simple maintanence, it should be good for many years to come!
