Yes or no?

My local AD is offering 40% off a BNIB white Milgauss. Should I? Would it be harder to sell as it isn't a highly sought after style watch?

not sure that "highly sought after style watch" is right.

but if you like it then 40% off seems like a very good deal to me. sounds like AD is trying to just break even and can't move it.

Agreed!! 40% off is a great deal if thats the watch you really want.

There is always a reason when something is getting a huge discount.

OP said "it isn't a highly sought after style watch..."

To OP - get it if you really like it. The 40% off is generous imho.

There has to be a story with this. There is no profit in it for him.

This. His gross margin is 37.5%...taking an actual loss on a white Milgauss seems extreme. It's no Sub/GMT/Daytona but I'd expect there to be lots of Rolex models that move even slower.

Maybe the fact that Omega now makes watches with 15x more magnetic resistance has had an effect on Milgauss sales, though.

It's only a good deal if you actually want that model.

Also, any issue with the watch? (a return?)

I'd say 40% off of something you really aren't sure about is 100% a mistake. Pass.

I couldn't agree more with this statement. It applies for anything! Well thought, thanks for sharing.

Do you want to buy it because you like the watch or because you want to resell it?

Don't waste your money on a model you do not LOVE. If you are planning to flip, plan for a small loss

Thanks all. My thoughts were to resell it because of the discount they're giving, but now I'm thinking otherwise.

As strange as it may sound, I think the White Milgauss would look great on a rubber Everest Band.

40% is very good deal. I'd buy if looking for a new watch!

In a heartbeat. Don't see any reason why you couldn't easily resell at 20% off of retail if you don't like it (and it's still in perfect condition).

Even BNIB doesn't command this price...

If you like it then buy it...

If you're a flipper then also buy it...

BUT if you don't like it then don't buy it.
