Tudor Blackbay Service

Just curious, has anyone gotten their Tudor BB serviced? How much would it cost to service the ETA movement?

I believe the UK price is £300.

Any good independent watchmaker can service the 2824 movement, shouldn't be too expensive. I can service one under two hours, it's a great movement IMO.

Thanks for posting that, that's more in line with expectations. Now for the new in-house movement I'm guessing Rolex prices...

I don't know if really $300 is worth servicing the Tudor movement. For example, the sale price of complete new ETA 2824-2 movement is around $250.

Tudor modifies their 2824-2's and uses the highest grade to begin with. Plus, the full service includes gaskets, setup, calibration and testing -- well worth USD 300 to get your watch into brand new condition.

You're probably right in house will be more expensive than the ETA I think. I got 2 estimates at the same time for GMT and for the BB, GMT $600 and again the BB $300.

I've always wondered if an independent watchmaker really have everything necessary to service all these watches with ETA movements out there.

Sure the movement is more or less the same, but the watch itself is different. There are different case backs, seals, gaskets etc. Can an independent watchmaker really service your Tudor to the same level a RSC can?
