Help on this 5512!

I've been searching for a 1965 birthyear watch for awhile now, and after going back and forth between models I found this 5512 on eBay. I know the serial number/date game is not exact, but I think it falls into the 1965 gap? Can you experts help me out, and weigh in on the "pros and cons" on this piece. The seller claims it to be all original, except for what he is calling a newer "service bracelet" on it. Thanks HNY

Looks to be a 78360 bracelet with 580 end links. Not unheard of but a "service" replacement would be a 93150 on this reference.
Hard to tell on the pics, but are you sure that is a gilt dial? I am on my phone so may just be the pics but looks like a later matte dial to me--hope I am wrong.
Ask for more pics and some dial close ups and post them up.
I am in the same boat, searching for birth year 66 Bart 5513 for a couple years now....
Good luck👍🏻

Cool chart. Do you know if there is one for the 5513?

The dial is not gilt so is not correct for 1965. A decent correct gilt 5512 will cost in the region of $20k upwards so I'd forget about picking one up via eBay. You really need to see these in person if at all possible as the condition of the dial is over 50% of the value. A lot can be hidden depending how the pics are taken.

This vintage thing is tricky Thanks for the advice. I had to inquire. No such thing as a dumb question I've been told. Thanks again HNY

I would try to get a pick of inside the case back. That is dated. If it's dated 66, the dial is possibly correct.

But who ever said you need to look at the watch in person is right! The devil is in the details with these vintage pieces.

Yes I would also be interested in seeing the inside of the case back. I looked again on my big monitor and appears to be a matte dial. I would suspect the dial has been replaced based on the serial number.
Looking at your collection, a four digit should definitely be in the mix. Good luck on the hunt and keep asking questions--you are correct, the vintage thing is tricky and it is good to ask for some help.
