Hello,

I just purchased and received my first ever vintage Rolex from Portero.com. It is a 1960's stainless steel oysterdate precision. The bracelet is too long, so I went to go about shortening it. The links do not seem to have screws, but more like pushpins. Is this a fake or was this standard? I have 2 days to return it...help me please!

Those aren't push-pins, they are rivets.

Taking a link out of a rivet bracelet is not for the feint of heart. You have to unfold them and carefully refold them in place..

Yes its genuine, dial is refinished

I wouldn't attempt to take links out that bracelet take it to a watchmaker

Dial is repainted. That model never came with an orange dial.

Basic dial is original, but refinished background colour, text and lume dots, IMO.

From your photos, I believe that you have a Swiss-made Rolex 7205 rivet bracelet. Shortening it is a bit of a task (as others have previously mentioned, and best left to a good watchmaker), but it's a very desirable bracelet. Refinished dial for sure, but it's a nice watch.

Nice looking watch. Looks authentic. Get an estimate from a reparable watchmaker to remove links and keep the ones that get removed for the future. Best of Luck

Don't remove links yours self
You will be sorry . Even good
Guys bend these and leave dents.
Looks like a good watch
If you like the orange great and if
You think you want an origanal dial
But one they can be found easy for not much
Money

I was able to remove a link from my 7836 folded-link bracelet without any problems. A local watchmaker advised me to use a single-edged razor blade to carefully bend the link, which worked quite well. He said you should wear eye protection and expect to go through more than one blade, as they can break easily. I managed to do the job without breaking the blade.
