Real or Fake?

Hi All,

A friend of mine found this old Rolex in the sock drawer of his late father and he was asking whether it was real or fake. If real, would anyone happen to know the model?

It is a genuine older Datejust with a refinished dial and painted seconds hand.

Yes, my friend said that the even numbered days are red and odd numbered days are black.

Does that sound legit?

Thanks.

Given that it is a refinished dial, any rough idea of its value? My friend us thinking about taking it in for a service and wear it but wouldn't want to go to the trouble if the service cost more than the value of the watch.

It will be worth the cost of service! Tell him to go for it wear and enjoy!

Plenty of old DJ dials around. I quite like the red seconds hand matching the date. Well half the dates anyway.
