Parachrom bleu

As the Parachrom bleu hairspring is touted as a big step forward, could it be fitted to my M series SD when the time comes for the original spring to be replaced?

IMO, when your original SD spring needs replacing the SD will be nuclear powered. I don't think the spring is a high wear item.
It might break, in which case it would most likely be replaced with the original spring, Rolex aren't famous for upgrading models during repair or servicing.

The Parachrom Bleu is Rolex own, in-house developed hairspring..... they did this to get out from under using Nivarox, who has practically a monopoly on high end hairsprings..

The subsequent change of the color to Blue and the folow-on marketing has been a huge success...

But I don't think this spring is a significant (meaning vastly greater) improvement....

A significant achievement yes, absolutely.

As for retrofitting, I believe that it can be. (I have no proof of this) The SD advertises a 3135 with it, so I think that if it is attached to the same balance wheel as before, it will directly replace the older springs when necessary..
