I brought my first rolex today people...and i just love it. GMT Master II, did
i make a good decision with this watch? It was between this and the sub??

Is that a brand new from the dealer GMT II ? If so you may have a particularly special watch. The last of the 16710 (that's the refrence number or your watch) were fitted with the movement from the newest version of the GMT II - known as the 116710.

If your serial number begins with the letter M then you almost certainly have one of the later movements.

Your watch there may be cool for three reasons:

1) It's a Rolex GMT
2) It has a black bezel (Mine is wearing a Pepsi - but the black bezel looks great)
3) It has the later 3186 movement.

So..what's the first letter of the serial number....and when you move the mercedes hand does the red 24 hour hand wiggle?

Excellent choice!! Got my 16710 a few months back...and had a hard time getting if off of my wrist!! Made my other watches MAD!!

Congratulations on a great watch(no wonder you can't stop smiling). Those pictures are a little less then great though and I'm guessing you are to blame and not the camera as other parts of the picture are in focus. Do you have a macro setting on your camera(often a little button with a flower icon)? That watch just deserves better pictures.
