Rolex or Patek
I know there is a considerable difference in price, but which would you choose?...

Totally different watches but in this case IŽd have the 5164 over the 116506.
Lighter, under the radar and has both a date and a useful complication. |

Although there are Patek's that I really like, this is definitely not one of them. Combine that that w/ the fact that I find the Platona in the metal and on the wrist is truly amazing....and I think we know which way I voted!

I love the colours of the platona, but I tend to find chronographs a little redundant as I never time anything.
I liked the Aquanaut Travel Time so much that I bought one. Last edited by rabbithole88; 2 March 2016 at 06:39 PM.. Reason: Typo |

Great pair! How do you split the wrist time? I have the 5712 and am thinking about the 5164 as a stable mate. I have not seen the Platona in the metal yet but hope that the brown and aqua work well together. I assume it pops more in person. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Let's say the patek is more useful in everyday life unless you have to time things.

I'm not a fan of the Daytona, but I think the 5164 is close to perfection. One of my grails, just too bad I cant afford it 😁

Patek. Although I would be more than happy with either of course. I do love them both and am currently deciding between their little brothers (the SS Daytona white dial, and the SS Aquanaut 5167A).

Platinum Daytona for me. Never took to the Aquanaut. If the Nautilus, would be a tougher choice.

Daytona for me - had the 5167 and it just didn't sing to me on the wrist....5164 is better, but I'd prefer a steel bracelet a la' Nautilus...don't like the bracelets for the 67/64.

I think complication has to be part of the decision, so which is more important to you?
I just bought a 5167a instead of a Daytona, and I'll probably trade it up at some point for a 5164, which is a stunning piece. You really need to wear a Patek for a day to understand why they are so special. A Nautilus on bracelet is probably a closer comparison to a Daytona however. |

I'm not an Aquanaut fan, so I am going with the Platona on this one.
