Icon7 What would be your second watch be

Thread just for fun here. Thinking about what my next watch purchase would be. If you had a yachtmaster 2 yellow gold as your daily wearer/first rolex (23 years old) what would be your second watch and why?

At age 23 my watch was a steel and gold Date model with jubilee bracelet with black dial. If I had an all gold Rolex back then my second one would have been a steel GMT or Submariner.

I would never own a yacht master as I don't like it so I would default to my current favorite model which is the GMT Master 2 in any variation. Very versatile. If you like yg I suggest the 116718 anniversary model

I personally don't lean toward gold modules, hence, a 2nd watch "If not a 1st watch" would be a new SS Sub do its versatility and characteristics.

DSSD. Something for under the water. And after the YM2 anything 40mm will feel tiny. Otherwise I'd say SD4K.

So at 23, if I had a 116688 what would I get next?

Have to go bigger on #2. Boom!

Or if you want to go a little more subtle yet still big.

Haha, I like your style! Totally agree, it's not logical to get something less.... It only goes up not down 😂

Buy a yacht to go with the watch!!🛥

But on a serious note I would go with something in a white metal. Maybe a SS sub or even a WG sub if you want to stay PM. But Neil has a point on this one. He has a PM fleet and just bought this one. It is a special dude.

I would like my next watch to be either a RG Breguet Marine Chrono or a RG Breguet La Tradition.

Like others have said.... D blue, pam 233, ExpII42, Navi, or djii for that sweet spot size of 42 to 44. After owning the above I can't go back to 40mm, which sucks bc there r some awesome more plentiful 40mm sizes available.

Everyone needs a steel submariner! I heard this countless times here and always thought it was BS. I never really liked the submariner, until that one day I walked into the local AD to pick up a Polar EXP II which I didn't like on my wrist and the SubC LV caught my eye on my way out. I tried it on my wrist and didn't want to take it off. It looked amazing under the spotlights at the AD so it was an impulse buy to be honest. Later when I saw the dial in direct sunlight I was a little disappointed, it didn't look as good, and I don't even like green. I wore it for two days then it ended up in one of my winders. Was only a week later when I decided to wear it again, but this time it started growing on me and I started to appreciate everything about it and now I know why the Steel Submariner has been the most successful luxury sports watch in history: It's faultless.

Well, I dont like the YM2, i would sell that and get a 116618LB to keep in the YG range and for a second watch I would look for a 15400 with Black Dial.
