New Special LE Grand Seiko

Perhaps suitable for only those who’re more in touch with their feminine side, but nevertheless, feast your eyes on this little beauty… and little is the word, since at 39mm it means there’s no mission of me pulling this one off!

http://kamine.co.jp/blog/kamine-staf...s/2018/01/JPG3 – a fairly large image, so posted as a link rather than inline, like those above.

Hard to know for sure what the dial colour is, I’ve seen mention of both pink and bronze, with many photos (and Seiko’s own render) looking very much well into the pink spectrum.
As is typical of Seiko’s dial capabilities, it may flip from one to the other depending on the angle it’s being looked at, as well as the light source.

This reference SBGA371 was announced in late January, and is limited to 500 pieces – presumably for Japan only.
Designed by Yasushi Akimito for the AJHH (Association of Japan Haute Hologerie), and includes a nice shade of brown leather strap on a buckle.

I’m rather surprised it’s 39mm, as pretty much every other regular SD is 41mm, iirc.

Pretty! What’s the significance of the 9?

The Japanglish (from memory) suggests it’s somethinv to do with the time in the morning when the business man turns the light on, and the time in the evening when memories are made... or something like that.

The usual thickness for an SBGAxxx — ~13mm

Seiko do seem to make quite a few limited editions.
I wouldn't say 39mm is too small but I would have found 41mm personally more to my preference.
I like the red "9" aesthetically, but I can't find a reason to give it that level of prominence.

I like it but wish it had a larger case size.

The whole concept of feminine and masculine colours is (rightly) going out the window.

That dial looks stunning.
