Most Sentimentally Significant Piece

The day my daughter was born, my wife gifted me my first modern six digit Rolex. It was a 116710LN and I have since taken it all over the world with me. Anytime I’m away from home traveling it is on my wrist.

What is the piece you most cherish for sentimental reasons?

Nice one OP, but my most sentimental is not any of my Rolex’, but its my grandfathers Gruen that he wore everyday of his life and was gifted to me when he died. My grandmother gave it to him on their first Christmas together after being married. I recently had it gently restored and have worn it to a few black tie events.

Wife and children’s names engraved on back. I also swapped out my stock pcl bracelet for a oysterflex.

Maybe not “sentimental” but a watch you have bought or been gifted that has a special meaning or represents a milestone or event?

. Great question. I pulled this image off the web. It’s a 1970s era Heuer Daytona. I wore all through college and to this day I regret selling it.

So let me get this straight...

She carried your child for 40weeks +/- and then labored for who knows how long and then pushed or potentially had a cesarean section and then after all that she gave YOU a rolex?! What did SHE get out of it?!

Left one was a complete impulse purchase gift from my wife for our 20th anniversary.

Right one was a gift from my wife for making Partner at a major management consulting firm.

Love that VC. I was so, so close to purchasing one. I just couldn’t get over the DSSD JC though. Maybe next time around. I really love the three bands that come with the watch and the Gen 3’s have an open case back. Very classy time piece Sir

For me its these two:

When Rolex announced the 50th anniversary Seadweller commemorating the original 1967 model, I knew I had to have one. I turned 50 in the same year.

Also, the classic James Bond Submariner won here on TRF with my lucky 3 ... a day I'll never forget

My first Rolex. It was a gift from my late mother.

The watch that started my interest inspired by my childhood hero (Magnum PI)

My D-Blue DSSD for when I accomplished my life long dream of swimming with Great White Sharks.

I can keep on going but these are my top 3.

Even though I love my Rolex Sport models, this here is the one that started it all. Wedding gift from my in laws and I wore it on my wedding day. My only Rolex that was purchased new from an AD with my name on the card and it makes it very special.

It was originally purchased with the Oyster PCL bracelet but I sourced a super jubilee for it and now have the best of both worlds. One watch I will never sell, ever.
