$15 to add a link to my ROLEX at Razny Jewelers in Addison, IL
My sub was getting tight on me and figured I add a link. I call Razny Jewelers which is near my work and ask if they a spring bar tool for sale. AD kindly states that they do not sell them.
I then asked if they can add a link to my Rolex. AD states did you buy it from Razny? I kindly stated no I did not....then she states then it would be $15 to add a link sir.... I kindly stated thank you very much... $15 to add a link....does the tool that is used even cost that much? Anyone else run into AD's charging for adjustments. |

$15 for their time and experience is cheap, it's worth something, especially for a non-customer.
Someone on this site was quoted $75 to adjust the bracelet, that's unfair but I'd pay the $15. |

I agree...I just recall walking into other AD's and not paying a dime for adjusting my bracelet. It's really not about the 15 bucks...

So was that 15.00 for the extra link and the install? If so..that is DIRT CHEAP...
I have an aftermarket bracelet and an extra link cost me $10.50 extra (not installed) I would say for a genuine Rolex part 15.00 is almost giving it away. If you already have the link...then I dunno, 15.00 sounds OK for the install. You might be able to get a watchmaker to do it cheaper. There is not much involved depending on the bracelet.

I had a thread here a month ago or so on Ben Bridge. They wanted $40 to add a link. $15 is very reasonable for their time and effort. I was ready to pay that...not $40!!
good luck!

I guess times have changed... or maybe its just the paticular AD. Most AD's in my area do not charge for that even though you didnt by from them..

Depends on their motive...

Because of a gesture like that I certainly will and would call that 25 bucks well "spent" on their part. |

$15 is fair, not great but fair. A jewler in the local mall adjusted my seamaster for free, however she said "I won't charge you, but the next time you buy a watch you have to come see me". Smart woman, and I will go back to let her price out a new purchase

$15 seems reasonable for a billable 1/4 hour of work. Works out to a standard $60/hr rate. Not too shabby.
$50 at the Breitling dealer? Nope. I do it myself though with the $5 bargin bin Walgreens screwdriver set I keep in my desk drawer. Never borked a Rolex link screw using it. |

This is reasonable price!!! If you did this in Cairo, Egypt, you could have paid arround $40. Do you feel comfortable now after adding the link? This is the most important issue my friend :))))

$15 isnt bad.. i mean sure they COULDVE done it free just in the hopes of future business..
but, maybe they were busy, maybe they sell plenty already, idk.. my AD will do all taht shit free, but then again that is specifically why we bought 2 watches there so that the future stuff is easy

15 is fine. You should just get a screwdriver and do it yourself though. Easy and it takes 2 seconds.
![]() Come to think of it, you could make a nice living off of adjusting bracelets. 5 an hour at $15 bucks. 8 hours a day. ![]() |

I believe the charge is just in case they cock up the procedure and damage the watch. $15 isn't horrendous as it goes, I've heard of worse.

I was quoted £10 to adjust a link but when i went to collect the adjusted watch they apologised for the charge, cancelled the fee and all because they didn't realise it was a Rolex I wanted adjusting until it was with the technician!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you believe that s..t??

Good grief if you can afford a Rolex 15 bucks for a link replacement can't be too bad.

It fits the screws 110% , not leaving any marks....It cost a bit, but genuine Rolex. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Genuine-Rolex-...d=p4634.c0.m14 |

To those of you who are saying this should be free, you need to learn how businesses work. The point of a business is to make money. Maybe I'm missing something, but how is a business making any money when they add a link for free?
If you want that service for free, buy your watch there. It's as simple as that. If you bought the Rolex out of state to avoid sales tax, it's your tough luck. No one is making you have them add the link. You can go to your AD if you do not want to pay the $15, that's fine. Just don't whine to us about how everything should be free (and this is meant not only to the OP but to everyone else who is complaining).
